2026 School Nursing is my Superpower Nominee:
| Jaquan Fuller, Aldine ISD , Texas |
My sister has true nursing superpowers, especially in her role as a school nurse. She has this incredible ability to stay calm no matter what walks through her door—whether it’s a child with a scraped knee, a sudden illness, or a student dealing with anxiety. She doesn’t just treat symptoms; she sees the whole child. She knows how to comfort, reassure, and make every student feel safe and cared for in moments when they need it most. What makes her stand out even more is her intuition. She can tell when something isn’t quite right, even if a student can’t fully explain it. She advocates for them, communicates with parents and staff, and makes sure no concern is overlooked. On top of that, she balances compassion with strength—keeping order, making quick decisions, and handling emergencies with confidence. Her “superpower” is the way she blends medical skill with genuine heart. To her students, she’s not just the nurse—she’s a safe place, a trusted adult, and sometimes the reason they feel okay enough to get through the day.
