Julie truly brings a student-centered approach and a holistic lens to her care. She routinely puts her background in public health to use when trying to care for the whole student, not just the symptoms they are presenting with. She has been dedicated to fostering relationships within the school and build trust that had been lost prior to her arrival to improve communication and teamwork for her students. She has collaborated with community partners to improve access to healthcare to her students, most of which are from lower SES backgrounds. She is passionate about advocating in the best interest of the student, even when it means additional work for her. She is constantly problem solving and finding ways to improve processes (although she would deny these claims with a laugh). She brings joy and a positive disposition each day and has formed lasting relationships with her students. These are just a few of the examples of why Julie Qashu, RN is amazing.
