2026 School Nursing is my Superpower Nominee:
| Emily Long, Berkeley Heights Public Schools, New Jersey |
Ms. Long is a true cornerstone of our school community, bringing a unique set of “superpowers” that support both students and staff every day. She provides diligent, compassionate care to all students, always going the extra mile—especially for those with additional needs—ensuring everyone feels safe, supported, and understood. Beyond her day-to-day care, Ms. Long leads impactful, school-wide health initiatives that raise awareness and inspire participation across our community. She takes the time to deliver thorough and meaningful health instruction, empowering students with knowledge they can carry with them for life. Her influence extends well beyond the health office. Ms. Long plays a key role in fostering a positive school culture by organizing opportunities for staff to connect, celebrate, and care for one another. She reminds us that taking care of each other is just as important as taking care of our students. On top of all this, she consistently steps up to support other schools when needed, demonstrating what it truly means to be a team player. Ms. Long’s dedication, leadership, and heart make her an invaluable part of our school community.
