School Nurse Superpower Nominees

I am so excited to nominate Rachel Datz for this recognition. Rachel is a total superstar in our district, and honestly, I don’t know what we would do without her. She has been a school nurse for 10 years now, and instead of slowing down, she just keeps getting better and sharing her amazing energy with everyone around her. Right now, Rachel is doing an incredible job overseeing the intake for our new Early Childhood Center, which is a huge task. On top of that, she’s a team leader for so many of us nurses across the district. She is always the first person to know about the latest health changes or new safety measures in Texas, and whenever any of us need help, she has the perfect answer ready to go. You can reach out to her from any school in the district, and she will always find a way to make things work. But what really makes Rachel special isn't just her nursing skills—it’s the way she takes care of us. She goes way above and beyond for her students, but she does the same for the staff and her fellow nurses. She is the main reason so many of us don’t feel burnt out or overwhelmed. She gives us that emotional support and connection that you just can't teach. Rachel is our go-to person for everything. She uses such great judgment and always stays positive, no matter how stressful things get. She truly deserves all the recognition in the world for everything she does for Humble ISD. We are so lucky to have her!
