2026 School Nursing is my Superpower Nominee:
| Nicole Stang, Erie 2 BOCES, NY |
I have worked with Nikki Stang RN at BOCES LoGuidice (Special Education School) for 3 years. During that time she has shown great empathy and compassion for the students with special needs. She has a very strong nursing base and extensive knowledge from working over 35 years as a nurse in various fields. But she excels when caring for students with disabilities. She has a strong desire to care and support these students which many have a disadvantaged home life. She consistently shows compassion and patience everyday when addressing and while providing care to these students. She has excellent communication skills and works closely with staff and teachers to make sure every student feels comfortable/supported and that all their needs are met. Nikki serves as a liaison between families, teachers, and external medical providers, acting as an advocate for them. She has such a great rapport with some non verbal students that she is able to know what they require just from their body language. She is also proficient in critical thinking and can adapt and respond quickly to medical emergencies while remaining calm, putting staff and students at ease during stressful situations. These are just a few of the reasons why I am recommending Nicole Stang for being an outstanding school nurse. Thank You, Brandy Kachelmeyer RN
