2026 School Nursing is my Superpower Nominee:
| Billie Gammell, Gill Montague Regional School District, Massachusetts |
Billie can "do it all"! Historically, Billie runs the busiest health office of the elementary schools in our district; she cares for the students with the highest acuity needs. This year, the '25-'26 school year, Billie has taken on a variety of roles on top of being "the school nurse". She has mentored two other nurses in the district, myself included. Billie has absorbed the roles of the nurse leader, who retired last year and has not since been replaced. She has started and expanded the "Farm to School" program at her school, performed puberty education for not only her school, but another school in the district. On top of all of the "tasks", Billie always makes sure to be available for any questions or concerns that ANY of us have. I have never heard her complain about being too busy, having too much on her plate, or really about anything... She just does what she needs to and smiles about it! She is truly an amazing person, nurse, and mentor.
