School Nurse Superpower Nominees

From the very beginning of her career, Jessica Cave, has shown an extraordinary commitment to students and staff alike. Starting as an LPN, she worked one-on-one with students with special needs, building trust, providing comfort, and ensuring each child felt safe and supported. She was their biggest advocate, and often their only voice. Driven by her dedication, she went on to become an RN, expanding her impact across the entire district. In her role as a district float nurse, she became a steady, reliable presence in every school...stepping in wherever she was needed. Now serving at our transitional middle school, she supports all of the 6th graders in the district along with some of the 5th grade classes. She supports these students during what can be a challenging and emotional transitional time in their lives. She meets each student with kindness, patience, and understanding. She creates a space where students feel seen, cared for, and safe. Jessi is a team player who treats everyone with respect. She even took on a role as president of our nurse's union! Her superpower is her unwavering compassion in action! She has a rare ability to make every student feel safe, every colleague feel supported, and every situation feel manageable. With endless patience and a steady, caring presence, she turns everyday moments into meaningful interactions and that is what truly sets her apart!
